A serial Killer, a rapist and police corruption.
Murders are being committed across the North-East of England. Are they random killings? The people are not connected in any way. But, the victims do have one thing in common. Written in red ink, on the back of their right nand, are the words 'RIP' and dates of their death.
DCS Andrew Bainbridge, of Redcar and Cleveland Police, is charged with carrying out a clandestine investigation into the deaths. No-one wants to alarm the public about a possible serial killer executing innocents in the area.
Inspector John William Vickers arrives at Redcar and Cleveland Police; tasked with investigating a series of burglaries and a number of sexual assaults on young women.
His callous, sometimes cavalier attitude towards the public soon brings him into conflict with both Bainbridge and Michael Rhodes, a local Solicitor.
As Bainbridge begins to make progress, he discovers the terrifying truth of the killer's next intended victim and enters a race against time to prevent the death and put an end to the mayhem.
